Truffaldino is hungry. Truffaldino is always hungry. While working for one master he decides to double dip and work for a second master just to satisfy his everlasting hunger.  Meanwhile, the lovers, are betrothed, meet, fight and more importantly love. Where there is love, there is food and where there is food there is Truffaldino. Performed with the traditional mask used in the Commedia dell’arte style, this production is sure to please all who love comedy and slapstick.

Starring Ben- jamin Newham as Truffaldino, Bianca Bonino as Pantalone, Mark Power as Doctor, Marcella Franco as Beatrice/Federigo Rasponi, Daniel D’Amico as Florindo, David D’Silva as Silvio Lombardi, Ali Aitken as Clarice, Pasqualino Arcuri as Brighella and Gianna Di Genua as Smeraldina. Fools In Progress Theatre Company is a Sydney based, dynamic group of professionally trained actors, teachers and artists whose mission is to showcase traditional Commedia dell’Arte with workshop for students.


Fools in Progress Theatre practitioners will immerse students in the magical world of Commedia dell’Arte. Using authentic hand- made masks, students will have a hands-on experience with the stock characters of the servants, masters and lovers. Students will explore the physicality and personality of each mask. With the fundamentals of the commedia mask, students will be able to discover the hilarious world of Commedia dell’Arte and its relevance to today’s modern theatre. The servant of two masters will be used as the focus for the workshop.

Duration:  2 hours intensive

Numbers: 10- 25 students.
